Terms of Service
Last updated October 2, 2026
These terms govern your use of the Dibs app and website (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
1. What Dibs is
Dibs is a software tool that shows class action settlements you may be eligible for, helps you prepare claim forms, and sends reminders. Dibs is not a law firm, not a claims administrator, not a third-party claim filer, and not your agent or representative.
2. No legal advice; no attorney-client relationship
Nothing in the Service is legal advice, and using it does not create an attorney-client relationship. Dibs is not a substitute for the advice of an attorney.
3. Eligibility and results
Our Results disclaimer is part of these terms. We don't guarantee that you are eligible for any settlement, that any claim will be approved, or the amount or timing of any payment.
4. Who can use Dibs
You must be at least 18 and live in the United States to create an account.
5. Your responsibilities
- Give accurate information.
- Review every claim before you submit it.
- Submit only claims you are truthfully eligible for. Claim forms are usually signed under penalty of perjury.
6. Prohibited use
You may not use the Service to:
- file false, duplicate or fraudulent claims;
- file on behalf of others without legal authority;
- automate the Service or scrape it;
- resell data or claims.
We may suspend accounts that appear to be doing so, and may cooperate with administrators investigating fraud.
7. Claim Agent
Claim Agent is a tool you control. It fills in fields on claim forms operated by third parties, using details you've saved. You review, sign and submit; Claim Agent never signs, attests or submits for you. Third-party forms may change, fail or reject claims, and we aren't responsible for their decisions.
8. Third-party sites
Official settlement websites are run by claims administrators under their own terms and court orders. We don't control them.
9. Information accuracy
Settlement information is compiled from public sources and may be incomplete or out of date. Always confirm details on the official settlement website.
10. Subscriptions
- Dibs Pro is billed through your Apple ID and renews automatically at the price and interval shown at purchase until you cancel.
- Free trials convert to a paid subscription unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
- Cancel any time in Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions. Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's policies.
- We'll tell you before any price change. Free plan limits may change.
- For billing help, contact support@dibsclaims.com. Refund requests go through Apple; we do not promise a refund based on the number of matches or claims paid.
11. Communications
We may send service updates and notifications about your matches and claims through the app, push notifications or email. You can manage push notifications in your device settings and reminder preferences in the app.
12. Your data
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and why. We never ask for your Social Security number and we don't sell personal information.
13. Accounts and termination
You can delete your account at any time in the app (Me > Delete account). Deleting your account doesn't cancel an Apple subscription; cancel it in your Apple ID settings. We may suspend or end access for fraud, security threats or a material breach of these terms. Where practical, we will tell you why and give you an opportunity to address the issue, unless doing so would compromise security or conflict with a legal obligation. A restriction can affect access to paid features; it does not cancel Apple billing. Contact support for help, and request refunds through Apple.
14. Disclaimer of warranties
To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, that all settlement information will be current, or that matching or claim-preparation tools will work on every form. Nothing in these terms excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
15. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Dibs is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the Service. Our total liability arising from the Service is limited to the greater of $100 or the amount you paid for Dibs in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. This does not affect any liability or remedy that cannot lawfully be limited.
16. If a provision is unenforceable
If a provision of these terms cannot lawfully be enforced, it will be limited or removed to the extent permitted by law, and the remaining provisions will continue to apply where lawful.
17. Governing law and disputes
California law governs these terms, except where mandatory consumer protections require other law to apply. Except where the law requires another forum, disputes must be brought in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California, that have jurisdiction over the dispute. These terms do not restrict eligible claims in small-claims court or require arbitration.
18. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For material changes, we will provide notice in the app or by email before the changes take effect, including the effective date and how to review the updated terms. Continuing to use the Service after that date means you accept the updated terms, to the extent permitted by law. If the law requires express agreement to a change, we will obtain it before that change applies to you. Changes apply prospectively. If you do not agree, stop using the Service and cancel any subscription through Apple if you do not want it to renew.
