Privacy Policy
Last updated October 2, 2026
This policy explains how Dibs uses information to find settlements, help prepare claims and track their progress. Some features share content with AI processing and analytics providers. We don't ask for your Social Security number or sell personal information.
What we collect
- Account: an account ID and the email from your sign-in provider (for example Sign in with Apple), managed by our authentication provider.
- Matching answers: your state, age confirmation, the brands, carriers, apps and car makes you select, companies you say sent you a settlement notice, life situations you select, your preferred payout method (the type only), and settlements you hide.
- Claims you track: the status of each claim, your yes/no answers to eligibility questions, confirmation numbers and notes you add, and payout amounts you record.
- Usage and device information: the pages and features you use, app interactions, device and account identifiers, notification tokens, and diagnostic information. We use analytics, including masked session recordings, to understand and improve the app.
- AI feature content: notices you upload or paste, information from claim forms and pages, relevant answers, and results generated by our AI features. This can include personal information, Claim IDs and PINs.
- Subscription status: whether you have Dibs Pro, the product and renewal dates, from Apple via our subscription provider. We don't receive your card details.
Claim preparation and notice scans
Your saved claim profile and claim credentials are kept in your device's vault. When you use Claim Agent, selected details are filled into the official settlement website. We also send form information, limited page content, navigation context and relevant answers through our servers to AI inference providers, currently OpenAI, to help prepare your claim. We try to remove known saved personal details from page content before sharing it.
When you scan or paste a notice, its image or text is sent through our servers to OpenAI to identify the settlement and extract information such as your Claim ID, PIN and deadline. AI inputs and outputs, including notice content and extracted information, are also stored by our analytics provider, PostHog, linked to your Dibs account, to evaluate and troubleshoot these features. They are not stored exclusively on your device.
AI processing is part of Claim Agent and notice scanning. Before sharing your content with these providers, we explain that processing and ask you to agree to it to use the feature. You can instead prepare your claim yourself on the official settlement website. You review, sign and submit your own claims; Dibs does not sign or submit for you. Official settlement websites handle information under their own privacy policies.
How we use information
We store, access and process information to provide and personalize Dibs, match you to settlements, help prepare claims, manage accounts and subscriptions, and send reminders and updates you request. We also use it to troubleshoot, evaluate and improve the service, measure usage and marketing or referral performance, prevent fraud, maintain security and comply with legal obligations. Evaluation and troubleshooting may include reviewing content you provide and AI results.
Sensitive information
- We don't ask for your Social Security number. Notices and other content you provide may contain sensitive information.
- You can choose whether to provide health-related matching answers. We do not use those answers for advertising.
Sharing
We don't sell personal information. We share it only with service providers that run Dibs for us (hosting, database, authentication, subscriptions, analytics, AI processing and marketing attribution), and where required by law. These include Clerk for sign-in, RevenueCat for subscriptions, OpenAI for AI inference, and PostHog for analytics. When enabled, AppsFlyer measures installs and referrals and can receive account identifiers and subscription events. On iOS, we ask through Apple's permission prompt before accessing the advertising identifier for tracking.
Retention and deletion
Retention periods depend on the type of information and why it is needed. For account, matching and tracked-claim data, we consider whether your account is active and whether the information is needed to provide the features you use. For AI content and analytics, we consider the time needed to evaluate features, investigate issues and improve the service. For subscription, security and legal records, we consider recordkeeping requirements, fraud prevention and resolving disputes. Provider retention and backup cycles can also affect when copies are removed. We retain information only as reasonably necessary for these purposes.
You can delete your account in the app; this removes matching answers, tracked claims, page history and subscription records from our app database, removes your sign-in account, and clears the claim vault on that device. This does not automatically erase every copy held by our service providers. Contact us at support@dibsclaims.com for requests concerning other retained information. Deleting your account doesn't cancel an Apple subscription.
Your choices and privacy requests
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to know how your information is used and disclosed, access or receive a copy of it, correct or delete it, or restrict certain uses and disclosures, including sale, sharing for targeted advertising or use of sensitive information. To make a request, including through an authorized agent where permitted, email support@dibsclaims.com. We handle requests manually, may need information to verify your identity or the agent's authority where appropriate, and respond within the time required by applicable law. We will explain any applicable exception or refusal. To ask us to review a decision about your request, reply to our response or contact the same email address. We will not discriminate against you for exercising legally protected privacy rights.
You can update matching answers or delete your account in the app, manage notification and tracking permissions in device settings, and reset Claim Agent permission on the app's legal screen. You can decline AI processing and file directly on the official settlement website. Changing permissions does not delete content already shared; contact us for a data request.
Browser tracking signals
Our website does not currently respond to browser Do Not Track signals. Our app uses the analytics and attribution providers described above; those providers may also receive information from other apps or services that use them. You can manage app tracking permissions in your device settings.
Children
Dibs is for adults 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect information from children.
Security
We use encryption in transit and access controls to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure.
Changes
We will tell you in the app or by email before material changes take effect. Where a change to how we use or share information requires your consent, we will ask for it before making that change.
